In terms of elegance, simplicity and a sense of playfulness, the Wobbling Vases were chosen by the jurors of the ID Award for hitting just the right note. Once filled with water and a spray of flowers, the vases do indeed wobble until they reach their natural centre of balance or remain at asymmetrical tilt. Citing a sense of humour in the designer’s decision to introduce the unexpected - a base that is not a base and does not provide stability - jurors found the leap refreshing. And either individually or as a group the shapes are successful.
